But if you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Kansas City, it’s worth the drive for a restaurant that has a menu that has been built around family recipes with enough variety for every visit to be different.
That’s where Lulu’s Thai Noodle Shop comes in. With locations in Kansas City’s Crossroads neighborhood as well as Overland Park and Westwood, Kansas, Lulu’s has given diners throughout the metro area a chance to experience Thai street food, all of which has been inspired by the flavors and traditions of owner Malisa’s childhood.
Thai Food Rooted In Family Tradition

Lulu’s is all about family, so it’s no strange feat that this is how the story begins. The founder, Malisa Monyakula, traces her recipes back to her grandmother, whose cooking became part of the family’s connection to Thailand. Malisa’s father carried those flavors with him when he came to the United States to recreate the meals he remembered from when he was at home.
Malisa opened Lulu’s in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1997. After three years, the restaurant moved to Kansas City, where the concept continued to grow. Now, with three locations, all recipes are still connected to family cooking.
A Menu With Something For Everyone

Noodles may be in the name, but this does not mean that they are the only thing that our menu has to offer. You will also find Thai street food, soups, salads, curries, rice dishes, appetizers, and desserts.
